Smart Classrooms

Classrooms are available with the following equipment:

  • MAC/PC Desktop Computer
  • HMDI/VGA Cables for Laptops
  • Projectors
  • Digital Document Cameras
  • Blu-Ray Players
  • Internet Access
  • Telephone

If you are in an open studio space, smart carts with this equipment are available for check out from the Video Lab.

How To Use:

  • In each Smart Classroom is a Control Panel 
  • Select the device you wish to use. 
  • The projector and audio will turn on automatically.
  • Only the computer and document camera need to be turned on/off manually.

Top Tips:

  • To avoid the projector bulb burning out or overheating, please turn off equipment when finished with class. Select "Power" on control panel.
  • Do not adjust volume on the iMac. Use the control panel.


AirMedia is a feature available in Otis Smart Classrooms.

Students can wirelessly share content from their devices to the classroom projector.

AirMedia Icon

Mobile devices (smartphones + tablets) can share photographs and documents.

Laptops can share any type of file on the desktop though you may need to download a separate application (Soundflower) for sound.

Faculty Instructions

  1. Faculty need to select the "AirMedia" option from the touch screen control panel in the smart classrooms. 
  2. Specific instructions will be projected explaining how students can connect to the classroom AirMedia.

Student Instructions

1. Connect to the specific WiFi Network for the classroom. The WiFi password will be displayed on the projected instructions.

2. Depending on the device:

  • Mobile Devices > Download the Crestron AirMedia App for free
  • Laptops > Type the in the IP address or full Http address listed on projected directions

3. Depending on the device:

  • Mobile Devices > Launch App
  • Laptops > Open Downloaded Software

If you are on a Mac laptop, before you can connect to AirMedia, check the following settings:

  • Go to Applications > System > Preferences > Security & Privacy
  • Select the General tab
  • Under "Allow Apps Downloaded From" > select Anywhere

4. Select the AirMedia IP Address for the classroom you are in. (ex. GAHMN309-AM01 = Rm. 309)

5. Enter the unique CODE as it appears on the classroom projected instructions.

6. You will see a play button. Select to share media to classroom projector.
