Wizards Unite (2019)

Niantic's newest game seems to have many of the same accessibility issues as Pokémon Go.

Pokemon Go (2016)

When it launched in July 2016, Pokémon Go was an instant success. People around the world and across all demographics played the augmented reality game; they walked around their neighborhoods to collect and hatch pokémon.

Problems:

• Movement and location-based gameplay excluded many people with mobility impairments from fully participating.
• Its menu and visual design was also problematic.
• The game's map included many tourist sights, some of which were not appropriate spaces to play.
• Although Pokemon Go brought neighbors together, it could still be dangerous for African-Americans.
