Welcome!

This LibGuide intends to support students taking Thought Lab 2, a requisite Foundation-year Liberal Arts and Sciences course at Otis.

Within this guide, you can find information to help with the course's signature assignment/research project, including how to find, evaluate, cite, and annotate sources.

Signature Assignment

While each section of this course has a different theme and topic, all students will complete a research-based project.

General Prompt:

"Considering the course content that has emerged during our discussions and group activities from previous weeks, locate an area of interest you would like to explore in more depth. Conduct research to expand your understanding and deepen your analysis of this topic, and write a paper in the format your instructor assigns."

Requirements:
  • Word Count: 1250 - 1500 words (or equivalent; refer to your instructor's guidelines)
  • Research: Locate four quality sources for your paper. Cite them on an MLA-format works cited page. Annotate two of the sources. When referencing them in your paper, be sure to include in-text citations.
  • Optional found images and/or images of your own must also be cited.
