Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus

Library services available during online instruction

Plans for Fall 2020

Library staff are hard at work to prepare for re-opening in Fall 2020.

  • All items currently checked out are due on August 31, 2020
    • Return all books, journals, and DVDs to the Book Bin, not to the Library
      • It is now located on the first floor of the parking garage near the elevator
      • Contact the Circulation Desk for additonal options
    • No overdue fines will be assessed until we physically re-open for Fall 2020
    • Items not returned by September 8, 2020, will be billed for replacement
  • Local patrons may request items that will be available for pick-up in the parking garage
  • If you cannot come to campus, please contact Library staff on how to access e-versions of items in our collections.
  • While using the Library, all patrons must:
    • make an appointment in advance; no drop-ins are allowed
    • wear masks
    • wear gloves (provided by us) to handle Library items
    • follow physical distancing guidelines
    • follow all signage on floors and furniture to maintain phyiscal distancing
    • follow all directions from staff, which may include showing symptom verification

We will share more information once we have it.

What Library Services Are Currently Available?

  • The Millard Sheets Library is open by appointment only
    • Use 25 Live tp schedule 1 hour slot
    • Materials can be returned to the Book Bin; contact for other options
    • No overdue fines will be assessed for Fall 2020
  • Library staff are available by phone, email, and Zoom:
    Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm PST

  • Students, faculty and staff can access the library databases, ebooks, and streaming video via the library home page
  • Virtual workshops for information literacy, artists' books, and other topics

These services are not available:

  • Putting books and DVDs on reserve
  • Tours of the Library
  • In-person workshops, whether led by Librarians or Faculty

  • Information Literacy - Visit our robust guide to finding, evaluating, and using information. Get help with citations and annotations.
  • Research Guides - Subject- and course-specific guides to help you with your assignments
