While meeting with a tutor for academic support is a great first step in getting the help you want and deserve, you must prepare to get the most out of your experience. Please review the tips below to help you get started.
Preparing for Your Appointment
To make your appointment as effective as possible, we suggest a few preparations:
Organize all questions you wish to ask
Bring your assignment, readings, notes, or other relevant course materials
Bring all drafts or stages of work, especially those with instructor comments
Review all deadlines and communicate them during your session
Prioritize specific areas or sections of focus, in the event time runs short
Arrive at least five minutes early for your appointment
Take notes during the appointment using your notebook or laptop
Schedule an additional appointment as needed for follow-up at the end of the session
