Cr.A.S.H - Creative Arts Software Hub

Cr.A.S.H - Creative Arts Software Hub (formerly Club Adobe) is the SLC’s official program for working with Adobe Creative Cloud. Study Hall Sessions, Drop-in Hours, and Workshops are available throughout the semester for software tutoring, refreshers, project consultation, portfolio review, and more with our Adobe Specialist.

We are proud to announce, beginning Fall 2025, the Student Learning Center (SLC) has rebranded our digital media and arts support program, formerly known as Club Adobe. The Creative Arts Software Hub, or Cr.A.S.H, will be our year-round support service that aims to engage the Otis student population in the digital arts, supplementing and advancing their current curriculum to unlock students’ full creative potential.

What We Do:

  • Campus Cr.A.S.H. Course Workshops:
    • Our public workshops are available for all students to explore fun and interesting skillset applications of digital art software and creative development. These are usually focused on a specific topic, but also available as supplementary Basics, Intermediate, or Advanced level software workshops.
    • Miss a Fall semester workshop? We have our intensive workshop programming series in Spring!

      • September 10 and 17 - Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator Basics Workshop
      • October 15 - Cartoon Character Crash Course

  • In-Class Cr.A.S.H. Workshops
    • Our in-class workshops are bookable by faculty, and are focused on particular class needs. These can be requested and fully customized to a subject or activity. They are usually focused on a skill or project relevant to the class or an event, or a generalized Basics, Intermediate, or Advanced level software class.

  • Cr.A.S.H. Consult Booth – (Previously Digital Consult Booth)
    • A public booth hosted in the Ahmanson Fourth Floor Lounge, available to all students, providing quick consultations and a one-on-one casual chat atmosphere. We do portfolio and project reviews, as well as get support options and resources in front of students!
    • We can help with digital projects (review, critique, brainstorming, design, etc), digital portfolio (arts-focused professional standards, layout and critique, discussing yourself as an artist, etc), technical skills (software knowledge, basic troubleshooting [Not IT support], etc.), hardware review, and more.
    • Fall 2025 Dates (Bi-monthly on Thursdays, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM):

  • Cr.A.S.H. Study Halls
    • A public study hall for all students focused on providing drop-in general care and support for digital art studies, especially during important times such as midterms and finals. A calming atmosphere in Library Lab 100G, with tutors available to guide students and answer questions.

  • Cr.A.S.H. Resources
    • Tips, tutorials, reference materials, and activities focused on digital art support that students can reference at home or in class for their convenience. Our handouts are available in the SLC and online at any time, as well as at events and tabling. Stop by to see what new ones we have available!
    • Located online via Libguide, the Nest, MyOtis Dashboard, and by email request

What are the Writing Labs?

We run ENGL 102 and 103 Writing Labs that support students enrolled in Developmental English and Writing as Discovery: Thought Lab 1.
